The Tempest has spent the summer months under contract with SEAWAY HEAVING LIFTING supporting their heavy lift crane vessel STANISLAV YUDIN . She was contracted to perform decommissioning activities at Shell's Indefatigable location.

The decommissioned Indefatigable platforms and jackets were lifted by the STANISLAV YUDIN on several barges and delivered at Wallsend, U.K., for recycling. For the project s VIKING BARGE 3 and 7 and SMITBARGE 2 were used whilst TEMPEST provided towage services. Offshore decommissioning activities commenced in October 2008 and were completed by the end of the second quarter 2011, effectively leaving a 'clean sea'.
