AHTS BLUSTER has been contracted for two periods by Bluewater Services UK to assist FPSO AOKA MIZU in Ettrick Field, located in the Outer Moray Firth, about 120 km NE of Aberdeen. Together with a second AHTS, the BLUSTER rendered heading control services during diving and ROV operations. First services were rendered for two weeks in June, a second period of assistance is scheduled for second half of August 2011.
During the project, subsea construction work involving installation of manifold, flow lines and umbilical's will be carried out to set up a tieback with Blackbird production well. After completion, the AOKA MIZU will handle all production services, fluids handling, gas lift and water injection.
Bluewater Ettrick Production (UK) Ltd was awarded the UK Ettrick Field development by the operator Nexen and on 15th August 2009 the AOKA MIZU achieved first oil production. The FPSO has a storage capacity of 600,000 barrels and is designed to handle 30,000 barrels of oil per day.
